Jay D. Vogt is director of the South Dakota State Historical Society, headquartered in Pierre, SD.Ê When Jay came to work of the State Historical Society in 1987, it caused great excitement that a new computer was purchased for his use.Ê Today everyone on the State Historical Society staff uses computers for a variety of purposes, and Jay is probably the least equipped to operate one.Ê Jay is aÊgraduate of Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD.Ê HeÊalso serves asÊthe State Historic Preservation Officer and as Executive Director of the South Dakota Heritage Fund, the Society's nonprofit partner.
