Keith Ewing has served as both a reference library and systems librarian, along with diversions into interlibrary loan and acquisitions, at St. Cloud State University since 1984; he is also a professor in the Information Media program. While at SCSU, Keith has twice taught in the British Studies Program at Alnwick Castle in England and consulted on library automation at Nankai University in Tianjin, China. Prior to joining the team at SCSU, Keith was director of the Information Center (library) at Nagoya University of Commerce and Business Administration in Nagoya, Japan, and served as a reference library at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Keith has been active on MnLINK and MINITEX task forces. The Minnesota Digital Library Coalition http://www.mndigital.org grew out of sabbatical research conducted during 1999-2000; he has been the principle investigator for the three LSTA grants that have supported the project. The focus of the Minnesota Digital Library Coalition has been in leveraging the expertise and resources of large organizations to assist small local organizations to digitize portions of their collections to benefit users. Keith's wife, Molly, is a librarian at St. John's University in Collegeville, MN; together they have a high school daughter who is studying at the Stiftsgymnasium in Melk, Austria. |
