Ryntha Johnson serves as Collections Manager for the Anthropology Department of the Denver Museum of Nature & Science and is responsible for the care and maintenance of the ethnographic and archaeological objects in the collections and their associated records and documentation. She has worked part-time on various projects for the Department since 1990 and took charge as Collections Manager in 1994. Prior to 1990 she had 16 years of curatorial and exhibition design experience at the Denver Art Museum, the Saint Louis Art Museum and the Museum of Art and Archaeology in Columbia, MO. She has worked extensively with nationally recognized collections of Native American, Precolumbian and Oceanic artifacts and has specialized in the art and cultures of Oceania and Africa. An important aspect of her career has been to facilitate public and professional use of collections through exhibits, storage access and information accessibility.

Community Activities: Ryntha has organized living history presentations of the l9th century at museums, historic houses, and public festivals. She also teaches and performs ethnic dance styles, including English Morris, Scottish Country Dancing and American Clogging and Square Dancing.
