Rob Lancefield plans and implements database, imaging, and web initiatives at Wesleyan University's Davison Art Center. These support teaching and learning from objects in new ways. A director of MCN, Rob is the board's SIG Liaison; formerly he chaired MCN's Standards SIG. Rob founded the website XMacL and maintained it from 2000-2003, years when XML tools for Mac OS could be hard to find. His article "Museum Standards, Markup, and XML for Beginners" appeared in Spectra and the VRA Bulletin; other publications include "Musical Traces' Retraceable Paths" in the Journal of Folklore Research. Rob has spoken on image delivery, metadata, and XML at MCN conferences, as well as on repatriation and related issues at meetings of the Society for Ethnomusicology, American Folklore Society, and Music Library Association.
