Susan Benz is Manager of Digital Library Services at the Brooklyn Public Library. The Digital Library Services program grew out of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle Online project, an IMLS National Leadership project to digitize and make available online the first half of Brooklynâs famous historic newspaper of record. Susanâs primary experience is in building, managing, and sustaining digital collections. She has been with the Brooklyn Public Library since March 2002.

Formerly Susan worked at the Goettingen Digitization Center in Germany, and as Project Manager of a National Digital Library collaborative project between New York University and the Library of Congress on-site at the New York Historical Society. She serves as a Committee Member on the Metropolitan New York Library Council Collaborative Digitization Planning Committee, has served on digitization panels, and has spoken and published on the Brooklyn Daily Eagle Online project. She received her MLS from the University of Maryland in 1999.
