Timothy W. Cole is Mathematics Librarian and Professor of Library Administration at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. A member of the Library Faculty since 1989, he has held prior appointments at Illinois as Systems Librarian for Digital Projects and Assistant Engineering Librarian for Information Services. He is principal investigator for the IMLS NLG Digital Collections and Content Project (funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services), chair of the National Science Digital Library (NSDL) Technology Standing Committee, past member of the OAI Technical Committee, and current member of the OAI-Rights working group. He has published widely on OAI, metadata, and the use of XML and SGML in the context of digital libraries, and has spoken about OAI at many venues including IMLS Web-Wise, ALA, JCDL, and the Open Archives Forum (Europe).
