Twin Town Tacky Tour

Minneapolis Site Seeing Tour and Visit to the Minneapolis Institute of
Art
Fee: $30 per person
Time: 1:00 to 4:00 pm
Climb aboard! A vintage-looking streetcar beckons you back to a time when
trolleys roamed thousands of miles of tracking tracks linking Americanâs
city streets. With the clank clang of the bell, youâll be off for your
site seeing tour of Downtown Minneapolis. Some of the sites youâll see
will be the Milwaukee Road Depot, the Mill City Museum (venue for Thursday
nightâs reception), Walker Art Center and Sculpture Garden, Marshall Fieldâs,
Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus.
Then you'll stop at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts to join the staff
of The Minneapolis Institute of Arts for a behind the scenes tour of the
museum. Learn about the inner workings of the interactive kiosks, web site,
and digital photography studio. Watch Willy draw cryptic diagrams on the
whiteboard. Ask Dan how much that camera really costs. Take a tour of the
galleries or just hang out and ask questions.
After your two hour stop at MIA you will be treated to the trolley's Chain
of Lakes tour. You will drive through the Linden Hills neighborhood and
the Historic Kenwood neighborhood on the way back to the Hilton Hotel.

Friday Evening November 12, 2004
Tour to the Mall of America
Fee: $20 per person
Time: 6:30 to 9:30 pm
Spend a couple of hours at the Mall of America. The mall is the largest
fully-enclosed mall in the nation, hosting more visitors annually than
Disney World and the Grand Canyon combined.
Designed as a city within a city, the nation's premier shopping and entertainment
destination has over 4.2 million square feet of space and 4.3 miles of
storefront footage, making the Mall of America a must-see attraction. The
mall consists of four "avenues" placed in a square around the
centerpiece, Knott's Camp Snoopy. Each of the avenues provides a distinctive
shopping experience. At the "intersection" for each of the avenues
you will find one of the four anchor stores; Bloomingdale's, Macy's, Nordstrom's
and Sears. There are restaurants, bistros and cafes galore, with food to
suit every palate and budget. The entertainment district features nightclubs,
sports bars and a cinema complex with fourteen screens. And of course there
are over 400 retail stores, including many of the most prestigious stores
in the world and some of the most unique specialty shops. Don't miss Underwater
Adventures, the world's largest underground aquarium; voted World's Best
Shark Encounter with over 4,500 sea creatures and a virtual submarine tour,
plus a whole lot more!
