MCN Website 2009-2010 Redesign

This version of the MCN website went live in mid-2010. The MCN Electronic Services Committee, under the direction of Rob Stein, determined in 2009 that Drupal was the best option for an open-source CMS to meet our Web needs. The Committee then turned to the MCN community in the development of the new website, taking advantage of community expertise and offering a compelling professional development experience. Over 25 volunteers from MCN’s community directly contributed to the development of the new website through the specialized teams listed below. The result is a new site that is structured to grow over time through the contributions of the MCN community, and to become a repository of resources that reflects the activities and knowledge base of our diverse community of information and technology professionals. We continue to do post-launch work on certain migrated content, especially from past conferences.

MCN Website 2005-2006 Redesign

For the previous incarnation of the MCN website, Sam Quigley (then MCN President), Dana Mitroff (then Web Committee Chair), and Marla Misunas (then MCN Vice President) did advance work to select a development and hosting vendor. Starting in June 2005, Dana led a team of MCN colleagues to begin work with the selected vendor on the site and see the process through to a successful launch. That (now-previous) site went live in February 2006, after which Rob Lancefield (then on the MCN Board of Directors) became Web Committee Chair and led post-launch work on the site.
